Mentor Program

MENTORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

To meet the evolving needs of our membership, Tyson’s Corner Chapter (TCC) provides a mentoring program for Chapter members. This program is one of our Chapter’s major initiatives and we are excited to offer it again this year. Feedback from last year’s “pilot” program was very positive and both mentors and mentees received value.

Dependent on the amount of participation and our ability to successfully match mentees to mentors, we plan to start the program in September 2008 and end it in June 2009.

We are looking for 15-18 Mentees and the same number of Mentors. We envision that Mentors will primarily be drawn from the extensive base of NCMA Fellows that are Chapter members; however opportunities for being a Mentor are not limited to the Fellows. Based on the feedback from last year, we are maintaining the informal structure of the program since our membership needs are so diverse.

Please read on and follow the links for more information!

The TCC’s Mentoring Program is the forum for senior and experienced contracts professionals to privately discuss relevant and important topics with more junior contracts professionals, such as:

• How to make choices about job responsibilities
• How to handle job-related issues including procurement issues
• Balancing professional responsibilities and life issues

Becoming a mentor or mentee is easy. We’ve created a process that is flexible to meet your needs and interests. Simply submit a current resume and the form found at the “special message” links and we will try and match mentors and mentees.

To be successful we need to identify mentor volunteers and mentees quickly!! Please choose to participate and remember that our goal is to kick off this program in September.
