This NES Seminar looks at building a contract, in both the public and private business sectors, which meets or exceeds the requirements of the buyer and seller isindeed a challenge, especially in a world of high expectations and demanding customers. This seminar provides a comprehensive roadmap or series of steps, which can be taken by both buyers and sellers to achieve mutual business success.
The focus of this seminar is on the art and science of building a winning contract by:
- Creating appropriate and professional solicitations (request for quotes, invitations for bids, request for proposals).
- Developing successful bids/proposals (including verbal presentations).
- Conducting efficient, cost effective, and value-added source selection.
The seminar combines more than 200 proven best practices from both the public and private business sectors, numerous case studies, 12 selectedinterviews, 30+ sample forms, and exercises to provide a tremendous learning experience for novices to seasoned professionals.
Arthuretta's Bio:
Arthuretta Martin is a National Contracts Management Association (NCMA) Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) with over 30 years of experience in various capacities within the federal acquisition process. She retired from the Federal service after serving for over 25 years. She continued her career as Senior Professional Staff on the US House Committee on Homeland Security. She then transitioned to support various Federal contractors as a consultant to federal agencies. She is currently a small business owner of Federal Acquisition Plus providing consultation and training support to both private and federal clients. Ms. Martin received trainer and facilitation certifications from The Treasury Training Institute, Learning Tree International and Department of Transportation's National Highway Institute (NHI).
Ms. Martin is currently a Special Adviser to the Northern Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce. She has achieved Advanced Communicator Silver and Advanced Bronze Leader Awards with Toastmasters International. She also holds a Master’s of Science in Acquisition Management with the Florida Institute of Technology and a Bachelors of Science in Public Administration from James Madison University. Additional postgraduate work was done at George Mason University in Public Policy and Communication.
