BASIC CONTRACTING SERIES (BCS) II (FALL 2013)
Tysons is pleased to offer our Basic Contracting Series (BCS) II
beginning October 16, 2013. Series II includes eight (8) courses
covering different aspects of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
and Contract Management tools and techniques. Participants will gain
knowledge that is directly applicable to their career in Government
Contracting and for each class completed; students earn a certificate
for 2 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) points they can use to
assist them in obtaining or re-certifying for NCMA’s Certified
Commercial Contract Manager (CCCM), Certified Federal Contract Manager
(CFCM) or Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) credentials.
BCS II will be hosted at Noblis in Falls Church, VA.
The classes are 2 hours in duration and taught by volunteers who are
considered expert in their field. Participants can sign up for an
entire Series or mix and match any of the eight (8) classes offered
classes are $50.00 each (NCMA member), $60.00 (non-member). An entire
series is priced at $375.00 (member), $455 (non-member).

Wednesday, November 6th - Responsibility, Accountability and Authority for COTR (Tabitha Cucciardo) – Noblis
This course outlines the legal and practical aspects of being – or dealing with – a federal COTR.
Wednesday, November 13th – Intellectual Property Rights (Stuart Turner) – Noblis
This course walks you through the basic of Intellectual Property Rights.
Wednesday, November 20th – Performance Based Contracting (Clariece Chaney) – Noblis
course gives you the tools, artifacts, planning, and measurement you
will need for implementing performance-based contracts.
Wednesday, November 27th – Elements of a Good SOW (Tom Ringwood) – Noblis
Statements of Work made simple.
Thursday, December 5th - Responsibility, Accountability and Authority for Contract Administrators (Jean Marceau Lohier) – Noblis
This program outlines the legal and practical responsibilities of contractor contract managers.
Wednesday, December 11th – Contract Closeout (Chris Wade) – Noblis
This course outlines how to get to final payment and how to tie up other loose ends at the end of the contracting process.
