Welcome to NCMA Tysons!

As Chapter President for the 2016 - 2018 Program Years, and on behalf of the Tysons Board of Directors, it is with great pleasure that I welcome you to NCMA and our Chapter.

We are thrilled with the outstanding services and benefits NCMA Tysons offers to its members and contracting professionals, and we look forward to continuing to build on our 32 year history of community, education, and partnership. I am delighted to have the opportunity to serve you as President of NCMA Tysons, and I will perform the duties of the office ethically and honorably. Our mission and goals are not only to serve and educate our members and the entire contract professional community (both government and industry) as a whole, but also to be and remain as a chapter of excellence based on integrity, mutual respect, collaboration, diversity, friendliness, networking, training, mentoring, leadership, transparency, and financial responsibility.

To further our objectives, we have partnered with many organizations [such as the National Defense Industrial Association’s (NDIA) Integrated Program Management Division (IPMD), the College of Performance Management (CPM), and the Project Management Institute (PMI)] to bridge the gap between contract management and other related fields. There are numerous functions that work in conjunction with individuals in the contract management field – including legal, proposal/capture management, project/program management, business development/ sales, finance, human resources, information technology, and more – and it is important to our collective success to bridge gaps and promote collaboration.

Our website features current events, upcoming meetings, and educational offerings in conjunction with various local chapters, groups, and NCMA headquarters. Our programs and events include but are not limited to:
· Monthly Hot Topic Informational and Educational Seminars and Dinner Meetings
· Contract Lifecycle Series Training
· Educational Seminars and NES
· Certification Preparation Courses
· Participation in the NCMA CMLDP effort
· Mentoring Program
· Networking Events
· Partnerships
· Scholarships
· Career Development
· Internships
· Volunteer Opportunities

Please connect with us on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter , and reach out to us if you would like to see additional programs or events. We are always looking for new ideas!

Our Monthly Hot Topic Informational and Educational Seminars and Dinner Meetings provide excellent opportunities to network with members at all levels of the contracting profession and to hear from dynamic speakers on current topics. These monthly dinner meetings are held at Maggiano’s Little Italy in Tysons II Galleria. Maggiano’s is also now accessible by Metro from the Tysons Corner Station along the new Silver Line, so you now have even more transportation options available. We look forward to seeing new and familiar faces each month!

As one of the largest chapters in the country, NCMA Tysons cannot present such an array of offerings without the hard and dedicated work of its many volunteers, Board of Directors, and Board of Advisors. The chapter’s sponsors also play a key role in the accomplishment of goals and development. We hope that you will consider joining our team and volunteer.

Lastly, my heartfelt thanks and deepest appreciation to our pioneers and past presidents for their service to the Chapter over the past 32 years – thanks to each and every one of you. I look forward to continuing the programs set in motion before me and growing the Chapter in the upcoming years, making it the best chapter in the world – a true center of excellence.
